I belong to a photo guild on Facebook.  Every few weeks, there is a new photo challenge.  The current challenge is “ordinary”.  As I read the description yesterday, I felt compelled to focus on ordinary objects of my everyday life.

This is “Part One” of Ordinary. Ordinary may be a recurring theme here.

In truth, folded laundry is not an ordinary occurrence in our home, but unfolded towels are not very photographic.

Sometimes school is ordinary but science is cool!
Rocks and sticks that we have collected during our travels
A heart-shaped leaf in our driveway

Do not ask your children
to strive for extraordinary lives…
Help them instead to find the wonder
and the marvel of an ordinary life.
Show them the joy of tasting
tomatoes, apples and pears.
Show them how to cry
when pets and people die.
Show them the infinite pleasure
in the touch of a hand.
And make the ordinary come alive for them.
The extraordinary will take care of itself.
