Last weekend, my family and I visited Hacklebarney State Park in Long Valley, NJ. One thing I have been doing more and more is to take pictures in manual mode. I didn’t bring a tripod but managed to steady the camera on the railing of a bridge and take this picture of Trout Brook as it flows into the Black River.

Love that park. Also Coopers Mill down the road.

Yes, it’s such a lovely place to hike and picnic although we had forgotten that it would be a little crowded due to Memorial Day weekend. But most people stay in the picnic areas not the trails.

Beautiful and this would be why New Jersey is considered the Garden State!

Nice!! I haven’t been to this park yet–but now I shall go this summer. Have you ever gone to the blueberry farms in south NJ? I’d like to do that sometime, too–especially since blueberries are our state fruit! [my recent post on ‘blue’ would explain why, if you don’t already know]. Thank you, lovely lady. 🙂

Though Hacklebarney is lovely all year round, the best times to visit are spring and fall. I have never been to a blueberry farm in South Jersey but we are growing a few blueberry bushes in our garden this year and hope to get our first (small) crop. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
