It’s been quite a snowy winter in New Jersey. Seventeen snowfalls have been recorded starting with the first one on December 8th.
Though I hate to drive in it, I love snow. I love how everything is blanketed in white. So clean. So fresh. On sunny days after a snowstorm, fields of snow glisten and sparkle. Forests are transformed into magical worlds of frosty wonder. Even small groves of trees next to an oft-traveled road become places of fairy tales, evoking the imagination.
Snow is the reason I ventured off into the forest one day to try to capture the magic with my camera. Click on any image to view a larger version.

I’m not a huge fan of snow, but it looks good on photos.

Morris County. It’s the Matthew G. Kantor Memorial Park (formerly Riverside Park) in Long Hill Township. The woods there are along the Passaic River. I ventured in there to view the river but it was all covered with snow and ice so it looked like the rest of the forest.

Beautiful – but I’d rather see it in photos than live thank you! Lived in Morris County for 7 years just before we moved south. Must admit I do not miss the snow one single bit but it sure looks pretty!!

I totally understand Tina! I love living where there are four seasons but yes, I am getting tired of this cold white stuff. Thanks so much for the compliment!
