This is my favorite peony in our garden. There are are a few reasons why it’s my favorite. Firstly, I love the color. Secondly, the fragrance is sweetly wonderful. Thirdly and more significantly, it’s my favorite because of sentimental reasons.

This peony’s parent plant resides at my in-law’s former home. We took a division of this beautiful peony from my mother-in-law’s garden after she passed away a few years ago. Each year in May (her birthday was in May), this peony plant blooms and reminds us of the beautiful and loving mother, grandmother, and friend that she was. I truly believe this she is in heaven right now and these peony flowers are her messages of love to us.
