In September, Jude from the earth laughs in flowers asks us to showcase a flower that we are particularly fond of or one that is unusual. When Jude posted an unusual turquoise flower on her blog, I immediately thought of some shots I captured of beautiful and hard to grow Himalayan blue poppies (Meconopsis ‘Lingholm’) at Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania.

Very nice, I particularly like the detail that you captured in that first photo.

Thanks for these – they are such beautiful flowers. I have seen them (but only fairly recently) and they are even more stunning in real life! Those gardens look like my sort of place 🙂

You would love Longwood Gardens. I go there several times a year even though I live two and a half hours away.

Absolutely love the clarity in the Himalayan blue poppies. Simply stunning and they look like a very cheery bunch. Very rare to see such a shade of blue in a flower. Very lucky 🙂

These are quite stunning. We had these blooming in our garden a few years ago but unfortunately, I lost the seed! Must look around for some…
Many thanks for joining the Floral Friday Fotos meme, I look forward to your next contribution.
