My husband and I are away in Arizona celebrating our anniversary and also visiting my daughter and her family. To celebrate our anniversary, my husband I are spending a few days in Sedona.
Sedona is an incredibly beautiful place surrounded by red-rock buttes, steep canyon walls and pine forests. Everywhere you look is a breath-taking view.
As I was searching for unique things to do in Sedona, I thought of looking up photography workshops in the area. I was fortunate enough to find photographer and author Larry Lindahl who offers various one on one workshops in Sedona. With the encouragement of my husband, I contacted Larry and he had a three hour sunset workshop available.
We met Larry at a designated place and he took us (my husband was able to come with us free of charge) to three beautiful places in the Sedona area. At each place, Larry taught me the basics of landscape photography but even more than that, he encouraged me in my skill as an artist. He shared his love of beauty in nature (in particular, Sedona and the desert) and his passion for sharing this beauty through his gift of photography. I still have quite a bit to learn but I am looking forward to practicing and developing these newly learned skills in the future. It was a true gift and inspiration to spend those hours with him.
If you are ever in Sedona, look him up. He is a fabulous teacher. If you have been to Sedona before or want to be inspired by stunning photos, check out his books. His website is www.larrylindahl.com. He is also on facebook.

Beautiful shot of Sedona. Those red rocks in the distance look stunning, and love how you framed the shot. Sounds like you got quite a bit out of that workshop with Larry. He sounds like a great teacher, and you a very eager student 😀

What a beautiful picture! I visited Sedona for a week several years ago and was astounded at the scenery and landscapes, and it’s so cool that you got to do a three-hour sunset workshop with Larry Lindahl. What a fun experience that must have been!

I kept reading how Sedona is so amazing to photograph and then I thought I don’t know how to photograph big open wide spaces especially in the desert so I started looking up workshops. Larry’s was one of the first ones to pop up but also, his website sold me from seeing his amazing photos.
