This month, I am embarking on a new adventure. My photos are on display at my local library. I am pretty excited. I hope this exposure will encourage more interest in my work.

Last week, I photographed a family (other than my own and for pay) for the first time. I made some minor mistakes which I certainly am learning from, but it is a start.

I am also so thankful for my followers who have participated in my polls and critiquing my blog through your wonderful comments. I am encouraged and so far, the majority of you want me to keep doing what I am doing.

I am feeling good about my blog and my photography skills.

I took the above image during the summer of last year. It is of a California Poppy growing in my garden. I just discovered this picture in my archives as I was searching for pictures to feature in a calendar I made for my husband. For one who easily takes hundreds of pictures in one day, it is beneficial to go though my archives and to see what treasures have been overlooked. I printed this one out (8×10) for the library display and put it in a matted frame (11×14). I have to say, it looks amazing. I rarely print out nature/landscape pictures and I found great pleasure in seeing my picture in physical form. It actually looks like something I would want to purchase. 🙂

I have too many flaws to be perfect but I have too many blessings to be ungrateful.

What are you thankful for?
