I love the delicate, feathery, green leaves of the Cinnamon wattle Acacia leprosa trees that line the “Acacia Passage” at the Conservatory at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. This passageway features a grid of windows which add light and pattern, reflecting the beauty displayed both interior and exterior.
Often times, I see people rush through this corridor to get to the next room. I always slow down here and even stop to appreciate the calming symmetry and artistry exhibited here – pure “eye-candy” for those of us who love green and nature, gardens, and beautiful architecture.
This passage was constructed between 1919 and 1921. The hanging and potted plants change with the seasons but the acacia trees have been growing here ever since the passage’s construction.

They look light and ‘ferny’. Are they?

What a beautiful hallway- it’s almost otherworldly. I bet it looks amazing at night as well.

Thank you so much Tina! I have noticed that there are several bloggers who have visited Longwood this year. One day we should organize a day when we all meet there. What do you think?
