Mom and Aunt

Sitting in a hospital room, my sister and I witnessed a tender moment between our mother and her own sister as my mother gently brushed her sister’s hair and applied lotion to her face. I couldn’t help but think that that could be us in 30 years and I cherished the image of that holy moment between the giver and the receiver, the lover and the loved. I encountered true beauty that day, displayed in a hospital room.

The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mode but the true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows. The beauty of a woman grows with the passing years.

~ Audrey Hepburn

Let us cultivate beauty through our love and care for one another. Let us experience beauty by the way we receive the generosity and kindness of others. Let us become beauty through the gratitude in our hearts and the ability to see that everything is a gift.
