There are forty days in the Lenten season but Eastertide (starting with Easter Sunday), consists of fifty days. That means we have fifty days to celebrate Easter!
This Thursday, I am thankful for Easter. For Resurrection. For true freedom. For a new beginning. For new life in God.
Just a few short weeks ago, this tree looked dead and barren. In many ways that tree reflected what was going on inside of me.
Now the Earth is beginning her resurrection song. And so am I.

Now let the heavens be joyful,
And earth her song begin.
The round world keep high triumph,
And all that is therein;
Let all things seen and unseen,
Their notes of gladness blend,
For Christ the Lord is risen,
Our joy that has no end.
~ The Day of Resurrection,
By St. John of Damascus, 18th century

Easter – an event well worth celebrating for fifty days – and more!
Thanks for this. And thanks for visiting my blog. I so appreciate it.
I wrote two joyful posts about Easter on my blog last week. “Easter Lilies and ringing Bells” and “A Child at Easter”. Such a wonderful season, Easter.
