I am so happy that Ailsa at Where’s my backpack chose the theme of sunny yellow this week. Those of us who have been living through a very cold and snowy winter are pining for much sunnier and warmer weather.
Gloriosa daisies at Longwood Gardens, PAYellow Tulip Tree leaf at Jenny Jump State Park, Hope, NJFourth of July fireworks at Hidden Acres Campground, Coatesville, PAMy daughter tuning her ukulele at a camp in Pennsylvania
Thank you so much! I went back to looking for “yellow” pictures and was surprised how good the fireworks one came out. I took it with my little powershot on “fireworks” setting.
Thanks Shane! That image was taken with my little Canon powershot camera on “fireworks” mode. I’m still learning with my new DSLR and I don’t think I could’ve produced as nice an image with it. Thanks for the visit!

Really? Well, that’s pretty amazing. It goes to show that knowing the settings on your camera is key. I’m not sure I could manage the same shot either.
Yeah I’m really new to DSLR cameras so I need to find some online classes to learn. Right now, I’m learning as I go, but I really need to dive into the technical aspect of my camera and be brave enough to shoot in manual.
Well, two resources that helped me greatly were/are Jared Polin (froknowsphoto.com) and 31 days to better photography. Jared has literally thousands of YouTube videos that are extremely helpful, and the other is an amazing and easy to follow series that I somehow stumbled on. If you look down the right hand side of my blog in the category list, you can click on my 31 day photography category. That’ll bring you to a couple of my posts that have the series link embedded. It’s the most helpful tutorial I’ve seen.
I’d suggest googling Jared Polin. He has literally thousands of helpful videos. Also, Google 31 days to better photography. I also link to it in my depth of field post. It’s the most helpful thing I’ve found.

Lovely pics for the theme. Beautiful capture of the firework display, and love the one of your daughter with the leaf. 🙂

Our winter was wet and not cold, not a winter at all, but now it’s enough! Thanks for the yellow to lighten it up!
