Lighthouses fascinate me. I am especially fascinated with Sandy Hook Lighthouse which was built in 1764. Located in New Jersey, her sturdy brick walls are seven feet thick at the base. Here you see the thickness of the walls when you look out the window near the base of the lighthouse.

It’s wonderful to be able to see through the windows at the top of the lighthouse and imagine the beacon of light shining as ships were guided by her light.
